Q: When does the promotion start & end?

A: Promotion commences 08.01am AEDST on 1st April 2014 & ends for purchases at close of business on 31st August 2014, or when 8,000 claims have been received, whichever occurs first. Claim forms must be received via mail within 22 calendar days of the qualifying purchase. Individuals who make a purchase on the last day of the promotional period (i.e. on 31st August 2014) must send their claim form so it is received by Panasonic by last mail Monday 22nd September 2014 at the latest. The offer is strictly open to the first 8,000 valid claims received.

Q: How will I know how many energy rebate claims remain?

A: There is a countdown clock on the home page of this website. The countdown clock will tell you approx. how many energy rebate payments remain. Please use the countdown clock as a guide only. It is based on the number of claims submitted and may not be completely accurate, depending on the final verification of customer claims.

Alternatively, you may also SMS the word ‘AIR’ to 0417 455 537 to find out how many rebate payments remain at that moment. Standard SMS rates apply. SMS cost will vary dependent on the mobile network used but will not exceed 55c.

Q: How long do I have to complete my claim form?

A: You must mail your claim form & supporting documents within 22 calendar days from the date of purchase & no later than last mail received, 22nd September 2014.

Q: Where can I purchase a Panasonic Air Conditioner?

A: You can purchase a Panasonic Air Conditioner from an authorised Panasonic participating retailer or a Panasonic Specialist Air Network Installer nationally.

Q: Is this offer valid for the Panasonic Air Conditioner that I bought on the internet? (e.g. eBay)

A: Eligible purchases must be made at an authorised Panasonic participating retail store or from a Panasonic Specialist Air Network Installer. Online purchases (including purchases via eBay) are not eligible. Claimants must have fully paid for the participating product before they are eligible to submit a claim.

Q: Am I eligible to claim a rebate if I lay-by, rent or hire-purchase (or similar) a Panasonic Air Conditioner?

A: Lay-bys not paid in full by 31st August 2014 & short term rental transaction contracts of less than 24 months are excluded from this offer.

Q: I am a residential developer/builder/subcontractor & have purchased a Panasonic Air Conditioner, can I claim a rebate?

A: Purchases for & in the name of trusts, companies, businesses, commercial or residential developers/developments & purchases by builders, subcontractors, installers & resellers are not eligible. Purchases made on behalf of educational institutions, hospitals, fundraisers & government departments or organisations of a similar kind are also classed as purchases for a business & therefore not eligible.

Q: Can I claim a rebate if I have purchased the Panasonic Air Conditioner for a business?

A: Purchases for & in the name of trusts, companies, businesses, commercial or residential developers/developments & purchases by builders, subcontractors, installers & resellers are not eligible. Purchases made on behalf of educational institutions, hospitals, fundraisers & government departments or organisations of a similar kind are also classed as purchases for a business & therefore not eligible.

Q: How do I locate my serial number?

A: The serial number can be found on the outside unit of your air conditioning system. Please refer to the example provided.

Q: When will I receive my energy rebate?

A: Rebates will be paid into claimants’ accounts approximately 6 - 8 weeks from the date the claim is received & verified by Panasonic. Panasonic accepts no responsibility for rebates being paid after this time.

Panasonic cannot guarantee exactly when the rebate will be paid into each claimant’s account. Therefore, Panasonic encourages claimants to continue to pay their electricity bills in full & on time (to avoid any additional fees being incurred or the electricity being disconnected due to failure to pay the bill by the due date). Panasonic cannot be held liable for a failure by the customer to pay their electricity bill on time & in accordance with the electricity dealer’s terms of business. Panasonic will not be liable for any late payment fees, disconnection or re-connection fees as a result of a late payment or failure to pay.

Q: How will my energy rebate be paid?

A: Your energy rebate will be paid directly into your electricity account by a BPAY® payment When you submit your claim you will be required to provide a copy of both sides of a recent electricity bill, including your electricity account details, your BPAY® Biller Code & BPAY® Customer Reference Number & the full name of the person in which the account is held.

Q: I don’t want to disclose my electricity account details, what can I do?

A: In order to participate in this promotion, individuals must consent to Panasonic making a payment to their nominated electricity account & therefore you need to disclose your electricity account details. Individuals who do not consent to Panasonic making a payment to their nominated electricity account are not eligible to participate. All details provided are held securely by Panasonic.

Q: I am not the account holder with our energy provider; can I still claim an energy rebate?

A: In the event that the claimant is not the account holder, they must have obtained permission from the account holder in order to claim & send through the electricity bill. They must also ensure that the account holder has read & agreed to the Terms & Conditions. It is important that the electricity account holders name appears in your claim under the “Account name” field, this name must match the name on the electricity bill.

Q: I pay my electricity bill via a set (e.g. fortnightly or monthly) direct debit agreement with my energy provider. Am I eligible to claim the energy rebate?

A: Yes, the energy rebate payment is not linked to how you have chosen to pay your current electricity bills. To claim the rebate you simply have to follow the steps as outlined on this website. If your claim has been deemed valid the energy rebate will be transferred into your electricity account by a BPAY payment. If you would like to use the rebate to pay off your electricity bill you will have to contact your energy provider and advise them to do so. Please bear in mind that we cannot guarantee exactly when the rebate will be paid into your account. We therefore encourage you to continue to pay your electricity bills in full and on time (to avoid any additional fees being incurred or the electricity being disconnected due to failure to pay the bill by the due date). We cannot be held liable for a failure by the customer to pay their electricity bill on time and in accordance with the electricity provider's terms of business. Q: I registered online, how can I tell if my claim form & supporting documents have been received?

A: We will send you an email notification when your claim form & supporting documents have been received & verified.

Q: What do I do if I haven’t received my energy rebate?

A: If your rebate has not been paid directly into your electricity account within 8 weeks from when you received the email notification advising that we have verified your claim, please call Panasonic Customer Service on 1300 769 710 between 9.00am & 5.00pm (AEDST/AEST) Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays or email panasonic@handlingmatters.com.au. Please ensure that you reference your UCN.

Q: What time can I call Panasonic Customer Service?

A: This will be operational between 9.00am - 5.00pm (AEDST/AEST) from Monday to Friday excluding public holidays.

Q: What happens if my claim is invalidated?

A: If your claim is invalidated we will send you an email to notify you of the reasons why. If you’d like to rectify the issue or have any further questions please contact Panasonic Customer Service on 1300 769 710 between 9.00am &5.00pm (AEDST/AEST) Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays or email panasonic@handlingmatters.com.au. Please ensure that you reference your UCN.

Q. How many claims can I lodge?

A: You can lodge up to a maximum of three claims per household, subject to the following: (a) only one claim permitted per specified purchase requirement; & (b) each claim must be submitted separately & in accordance with claim requirements. Offer is strictly limited to the first 8,000 claims received.

Q. I am a 'PAY AS YOU GO' energy account holder. Am I eligible to claim the energy rebate?

A: Yes, as long as your claim complies with all requirements as outlined in the terms and conditions. However, you won't be able to lodge your claim via this website. Please call customer service on 1300 769 710 between 9.00am and 5.00pm (AEDST/AEST) Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays) or email panasonic@handlingmatters.com.au.

You will be required to provide the following information:
Personal details: Title, first name, last name, address, city/suburb, state, postcode, phone or mobile number, email address.

Purchase details: Retailer/dealer name, retailer/dealer state, retailer/dealer city/suburb, model number, serial number, purchase date, purchase receipt number, purchase cost.

Personal bank account details: Account holder name, bank, BSB, account number (Note: If you don't have a bank account we will issue a money order/cheque).
Upon receipt of all of the above information we will issue you with a unique claim number (UCN).

Please write your UCN onto a copy of your original purchase receipt as well as onto a copy of your 'PAY AS YOU GO' card and mail both documents to:

It is very important that you write your UCN on both documents, otherwise we won't be able to match your documentation with your personal/purchase information provided over the phone/via email.

All documentation must be received by mail within 22 calendar days of purchase and no later than last mail on Monday 22nd September 2014.

We will validate all claims upon receipt of the applicable documentation and will contact you within 6 to 8 weeks to confirm whether your claim has been deemed valid or not.

If your claim has been deemed valid we will issue a cheque for the relevant energy rebate and post this to your nominated postal address.
